The White Oak VFC #1 is a 100% volunteer fire department. This means we rely on responders to dedicate time out of their busy days to respond for emergencies. Our department has operated this way and serviced the Borough of White Oak since 1931. We are proud to be celebrating our 90th Anniversary this year in 2021. Our fire station is located at the intersection of Capitol St. and California Ave. in the Bryn Mawr section of White Oak Borough. We have been in the same location since 1942.
The fire department consists of many different men and women from all walks of life. A firefighter from our station could be a neighbor, a relative, a teacher, or a friend. For all of these people, being a firefighter our fire station is something they have chosen to do. It’s through the dedication of all these brave men and women we have been able to continuously serve the community for these last 90 years.
We respond to all different types of emergencies. Home fires, vehicle accidents, rescue situations like trenches or collapses, medical calls, brush and woodland fires, hazardous materials, elevator emergencies, fire alarms, evacuations, mutual aide, community coverage, and the list can go on. Each of these emergencies takes a dedicated group of responders to see them through to a positive completion. We, as we always have, will be there when we are needed.
We look forward to serving you for the next 90 years!
